Getting more reviews

How to Get Your Google Review Link (and Share It on WhatsApp)

Your Google review link opens the review box for your business in one tap. Here are three ways to get it, how to check it works, and ready-to-send WhatsApp messages in English, Hindi and Marathi.

Short answer: Open your Google Business Profile, choose Ask for reviews, and copy the short link. No access to the profile? Build it from your Place ID (search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=…), or use the free generator. Test it on a phone, then send it on WhatsApp within a few hours of the visit, with a short personal message.

Method 1: From your Google Business Profile

This gives you Google's own short link, the one to use if you manage the profile.

  1. Open your Business Profile. Sign in to the Google account that manages your business and search for your business name on Google, or open business.google.com.
  2. Choose 'Ask for reviews'. Click 'Ask for reviews' (or Read reviews, then Get more reviews). Labels differ slightly between accounts and devices.
  3. Copy the short link. Google shows a short link and share buttons. Copy the link, or download the QR code from a computer.
  4. Test it on a phone. Open the link on a phone that isn't signed in as the business. It should open your review box with the star rating ready to tap.

Google's labels move around. If you can't see "Ask for reviews", look under Reviews in the profile menu. On mobile the option may sit behind a "Share review form" button. Google generates review QR codes from a computer browser rather than the phone app.

Method 2: Build it from your Place ID

Every business on Google Maps has a Place ID, a long code that usually starts with ChIJ. Put it on the end of this address and you have a review link that works without signing in to the profile:

https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_PLACE_ID

You can look up the Place ID with Google's Place ID Finder, or let the free review link and QR generator do it: search your business name and city, pick your listing, and copy the link. It also gives you a downloadable QR code and a printable counter card.

One caution: Google says Place IDs can change over time, for example after a move or when duplicate listings are merged. Recheck a Place ID link every year or so, and before you print anything in bulk.

Method 3: Use a link you control

If the link will be printed on stands, receipts or packaging, it's safer to print a link you control that forwards to Google. If Google's link ever changes, you update the forward once instead of reprinting everything. Saint Aura works this way: your printed QR points to your own scan page, which you can send to Google, Justdial, Zomato or another platform from the dashboard.

How to share it on WhatsApp

WhatsApp is where most customers in India already talk to businesses, which makes it the best place to ask. A few habits make a big difference:

Copy-paste WhatsApp messages

English

Hi [Name], thank you for visiting [Business] today! If you have a minute, we'd really appreciate an honest review on Google. It helps other people find us: [review link]

Other places to put your review link

Why a link alone often isn't enough

A review link removes the hunting. It doesn't solve the next problem: the customer opens an empty box and doesn't know what to say, especially if they'd rather write in Hindi, Marathi or Tamil than in English. Many give up there. Saint Aura's QR opens a short flow that asks two or three questions in the customer's language first, then helps them turn their own answers into a review they post themselves.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find my Google review link?

Sign in to the Google account that manages your Business Profile, search for your business name on Google, and choose 'Ask for reviews' (on some accounts it appears under Read reviews or Get more reviews). Google shows a short link you can copy or share. Button labels vary by account and device.

Can I get a Google review link without access to the Business Profile?

Yes. Every business on Google Maps has a Place ID, and a link in the form https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_PLACE_ID opens its review box. Our free generator finds the Place ID and builds the link for you.

What is the difference between my Google Maps link and my review link?

A Maps or profile link opens your business listing, where the customer still has to find the review button. A review link opens the review box directly. Fewer taps means more reviews, so always share the review link.

Does the Google review link expire?

The short link from your Business Profile doesn't expire on its own. Links built from a Place ID can stop working if Google changes the Place ID, which can happen after a move or a profile merge. Google's developer documentation recommends refreshing Place IDs that are more than a year old.

Can I send my review link to customers on WhatsApp?

Yes. Send it to customers individually soon after their visit, with a short, polite message. WhatsApp Business broadcast lists only reach contacts who have saved your number, and messaging people who haven't agreed to hear from you can get your number reported, so keep it personal.

Can I ask customers to leave a 5-star review?

No. Ask for an honest review, not a particular rating, and don't offer anything in return. Google's policies prohibit incentives and pressure, and reviews collected that way can be removed.
